If you have something to celebrate with friends, family or colleagues, or if you are looking to hold a team-building event, be sure to contact the Tourist Information Office Group Reservations department. They will be happy to organise your perfect day out, and make it even easier for you to explore all the great things the province of Utrecht has to offer. This year, we have compiled a wonderful and varied list of venues and activities throughout the province of Utrecht.
Fort bij Rijnauwen (fortress)
Located on a small open space between Zeist, De Bilt, Utrecht and Bunnik, the Fort bij Rijnouwen fortress is a massive fortification unique in the Netherlands because of its architectural style and flawlessness. It is also unparalleled where its dimensions are concerned: the fortress measures over 31 hectares and is the largest in the Netherlands. In addition to a fortification, this fortress also includes a valuable scenic area.
After a short lecture and slide show in the information centre, which is housed in the former powder house, the guide will tell you about the history, bombproof buildings, the underground corridors and the rich natural life at the fortress.
Price: € 4.00 p.p. incl. BTW (Dutch VAT) based on a minimum of 15 persons
The Fort bij Rijnauwen fortress is open from 1 April until 1 October 2009. Children under 11 and dogs are not allowed.
